Floor Director is responsible for the TV studio.

Contents

Before the Show

  • Oversee studio set-up, ensures Set(s) are correctly configured
  • Check and supervise adjustment of Studio Lighting as necessary
  • Should wear a single-muff Intercom headset so they can communicate with both control room and talent
  • Ensure the Talent have their IFB Belt Packs & Ear Sets, and have brought their Ear Cones with them!
  • Confirm proper placement of microphone and IFB placement on talent by A2.
  • Ensure teleprompter and floor monitor are visible to talent.
  • Responsible for the visual appearance of the talent. (ie: straighten ties, hair, etc.)
  • Ensure “Mic Lights” are on during the show.

Note: All Studio 2 Mic Inputs have “preamps” to increase the “Mic” signal to “Line” level.

North-East Wall Rack

  • ROUTER: Set to: “CG-1”
  • AUDIO: “Volume Control”: Set to "1" O’Clock
  • AUDIO: “Fold Back Control” Clicked into the “Preset” position ("9" O’Clock)
  • HEADSET PGM SELECT SWITCH: Set to “A2”, puts Audio 2’s "Program" output into all the Intercom headsets.
  • MIC LIGHTS: Switch pushed to activate the Mic Lights during rehearsal/show.

  • Set Headset PGM Select switch to "A2" ( to the left of the “Floor Director’s” Intercom Output ) - puts Audio 2’s "Program" output into all the Intercom headsets.

Notes:
  • “CG-1” must be selected on the Router Panel.
  • Mic Lights turned on via wall-rack while rehearsing / live show.


After the Show - All Studios

  • Camera lens-caps on, cameras stored.
  • All cables are coiled, tie-wrapped, and hung on their appropriate hangers.
  • “Black” selected on the Router Panel.
  • Set lights, Lighting Board and the Lighting Board operating lights turned off.
  • All equipment turned off
  • All Microphones, Intercom Headsets, Intercom Belt Packs, IFB Belt Packs & Ear Sets are properly stored in the lock-up Cupboard on the West wall of TV Studio 2.
