Audio Patching in CER

If “Live Hit # 1” is from the Rear Door & “Live Hit # 2” is from the Front Door

Show Day

Audio 2 - Patching

Note:

  • No Patching is required in TV Audio 2, if you are only using the 6 microphone inputs on the South Wall Box 3 facs panel.
  • Please refer to the label for each of the 24 sliders as to where each audio source is normalled through the audio jack field in TV Audio 2.


Before the Show

Audio Operator’s Intercom Station set up In Audio Control 2:

  • Main Page: “C2DIR”, “C2AD” and “S2BM” have the Yellow LEDs lit.
  • 2nd Page: “A2PRG” is showing in 12 positions & “A1PRG” is showing in 1 position.


Setup Tasks

  • Works with A2 to set mics in all the remote locations ( mics from Studio 2 for downstairs, mics from the Studio 3 for upstairs ).
  • Works with A2 to ensure mics are properly placed on talent & tested
  • Works with A2 to ensures IFBs are properly placed on talent, and performs an IFB level check.
  • Ensures Studio Fold-Back levels are correct with Mic lights switched “on” & “off”.
  • Locate and test all music tracks needed for the show.
  • Set Audio 2 - Video Routing panel to "CG 1" input to view titled program video.


During the Show

  • Ensure mic lights for TV Studios 2 or 3 respectively are “on” when the talent are speaking, and “off” during PSA breaks and SOTs


After the Show

  • Works with A2 to store mics appropriately.
  • Powers “off” all equipment in the Audio Control Room & the Announce Booth.
  • Removes any masking tape labels from the Audio Console.
  • Selects “Black” on the Audio 2 - Video Routing panel.
  • Remove and store all audio patch cords from jack fields in the CER, Audio 2, and Main VTR Room.
  • De-selects intercom station keys
